Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has called on the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to sheathe their swords.
George who made the call on Monday , described the rift between Wike and Makinde as embarrassing.
The elder statesman advised the duo that in politics, whatever one desires to do within his power, he should go ahead and do it.
Recall that Wike and Makinde, former allies, have been in the news over issues concerning the party’s leadership.
While Makinde stated that the FCT Minister pledged to hold down PDP for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Wike on the other hand, refuted the allegation, accusing Makinde of undermining PDP.
Wike and Makinde were both members of the now-defunct G5, which also included former governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.
Recall that the group backed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 presidential election, insisting that the southern region must produce the nation’s leader.
But George claimed he advised them all former members of the PDP against taking unilateral decisions about whom to support in that exercise.
