Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State, has announced that his administration is procuring drones to tackle insecurity in the state.
The governor disclosed this on Thursday while receiving the new Commander of the 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, General Ahmed Olatunboju Balogun, on a courtesy visit to Government House in Benin City,
Okpebholo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to securing the lives and property of citizens of Edo State just as he assured the Nigerian Army of the state government’s full co-operation and continuous support in the fight against insecurity and other crimes.
The Governor encouraged the new Commander of the 4 Brigade to communicate any operational challenges requiring the state’s intervention.
Responding, Brigadier General Balogun stated that he considered it necessary to visit the governor shortly after assuming command, pledging to consolidate the existing co-operation between the military and the state government.
He communicated areas needing prompt attention, including the completion of the Ekenwa Barracks road, the stalled renovation of the brigade school, and the need for drones to enhance technological-driven operations.
