The politics of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency is at a defining crossroad, and the choice before the people has never been clearer.
On one side stands Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, a woman who has never believed in the deceptive politics of handouts. She does not believe that the future of a federal constituency should be reduced to Keke or motorcycle empowerment that begins and ends on the day of sharing.
On the other side is a brand of representation that believes the highest dividend of democracy is to distribute motorcycles to a few loyalists while the majority are left with nothing.
What else can Ndi Isuikwuato/Umunneochi be asking for when they have in Onyejeocha a tested and trusted legislator who believes in attracting federal projects that touch every family, overtly or covertly. Her record speaks for her.
From roads to schools, from employment opportunities to human capital development, from federal interventions to visible infrastructural presence, Onyejeocha has shown that representation is about bringing home the national cake, not sharing crumbs.
Those who are busy advising her not to contest again should pause and ask themselves an honest question.
