Security expert, Bakatsine, has raised alarm over a prolonged bandit attack on Yargada community in Magami District, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
In a post on Sunday, Bakatsine said bandits reportedly operated for more than four hours in the community on Sunday afternoon.
According to local sources, the bandits abducted at least 40 women, killed one person, injured several others, burnt six vehicles and broke into several shops.
Residents said security authorities and government representatives were alerted during the attack, but no assistance arrived throughout the four-hour operation.
“How can bandits operate for more than four hours after authorities have been alerted without an intervention?” Bakatsine queried.
The incident adds to the growing concerns over insecurity in Zamfara State, with communities calling for urgent reinforcement of security presence in vulnerable areas.
