Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, says he is not involved in any arrangement to be former President Goodluck Jonathan’s running mate for 2027.
The governor distanced himself from reports on social media claiming he had been picked as Jonathan’s vice-presidential candidate by a faction of the PDP.
“Thank you for your interest in my political aspirations. For clarity, my focus remains on contesting for the Bauchi South Senatorial seat under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM,” Mohammed posted on his verified X account.
He urged the public to disregard reports suggesting he has other political plans, describing them as “speculative and inaccurate”.
Mohammed recently defected from the PDP to the APM amid internal disagreements in the main opposition party, and he restated that the senatorial race remains his priority for now.
