The Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has faulted Governor Seyi Makinde over his comments on insecurity, describing them as a misrepresentation of the constitutional responsibilities of state governors.

APC State Spokesman, Olawale Sadare, in a statement on Sunday rejected Makinde’s claim that he was constrained in tackling insecurity because security structures are controlled by the Federal Government.

Sadare described the governor’s remarks as “a height of cluelessness, insincerity and criminal ineptitude,” and said Makinde should not shift responsibility for security challenges in the state.

The party also called on Makinde to resign and allow his Deputy to complete the remaining one year of his tenure.

Makinde, while speaking as the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, presidential candidate in Ibadan on Saturday, said he had little power to rescue schoolchildren and others abducted by bandits since he does not have absolute control over security agencies.
