Hon. Martins Ikechukwu Apugo has resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, with immediate effect. 

‎In a resignation letter dated May 3, 2026, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, Apugo said the decision followed “wide consultations with my family, friends, and supporters.” The letter was addressed to the Ward Chairman of ADC, Ibeku East Ward 1, Umuahia North Local Government Area. 

‎He thanked the party for the opportunity to contribute to its growth and wished its leadership well in future endeavors. 

‎“I write to inform you of my decision to resign my membership from the African Democratic Congress after due consultation with my family, friends, and supporters,” the letter read in part. 

‎“I, Hon. Martins Ikechukwu Apugo, hereby tender my resignation from the African Democratic Congress with immediate effect. Thank you for the opportunity. I wish the party and its leadership well in its future endeavors.”
