Yusuf Tuggar, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs has revealed that Nigeria provided the intelligence that led to the recent United States airstrike carried out in the country as part of a joint counterterrorism operation.
Speaking during a programme on Friday, Tuggar said, it was Nigeria that provided the intelligence for the US strike in Nigeria.
According to him, he held expanded consultations with the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, ahead the operation.
Tuggar added that the discussions culminated in consultations with President Bola Tinubu.
He hinted that both countries agreed on how the operation would be presented to the public, emphasising that the operation had no religious undertone.
