The State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, Elder Abraham Amah, has formally presented Barr. Kelechi Anosike, PhD, as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
Speaking on Thursday at the party Secretariat, Amah said Anosike’s emergence “represents the collective will, renewed hope, and strategic direction of our great party as we prepare to offer Abians a credible, competent, and people-focused leadership alternative.”
He said Anosike comes to the assignment with “intellectual depth, legal discipline, administrative capacity, political maturity, and a clear understanding of the urgent developmental needs of our dear state.”
“For us in Abia PDP, success in governance is not measured by propaganda, excuses, or public relations management. It is measured by the quality and quantity of jobs delivered by a governor in relation to the resources available to that governor,” Amah said.
He added that Abians deserve a government that can convert public resources into visible development, economic opportunity, improved infrastructure, job creation, institutional discipline, and a better quality of life.
“Before and during our gubernatorial party primaries, we were clear that Abia PDP urgently required a candidate with value addition, character, competence, courage, and the capacity to inspire a broad coalition for the rescue and renewal of our state,” he said.
“We are glad that the totality of our consultations, deliberations, and democratic processes produced Barr. Kelechi Anosike, PhD, as the flag bearer of our great party.”
“It is therefore my honour and privilege, on behalf of the leadership and entire membership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State, to formally present Barr. Kelechi Anosike, PhD, to the Abia State media community as our gubernatorial candidate and as the face of our renewed commitment to purposeful governance in Abia State,” Amah said.
