The National Economic Council has approved N83.2 billion for the Anticipatory Action Task Force to mitigate anticipated flooding and climate emergencies nationwide.

‎The approval was made on Thursday at NEC’s 158th meeting following a presentation by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, on proactive measures for the rainy season.
‎
‎Council Chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima, said the President Tinubu administration’s reforms must deliver visible results for ordinary Nigerians.
‎
‎He urged states to work with the Federal Government to remove logistics and compliance barriers preventing farm produce from reaching international markets.
‎
‎Senator Shettima noted that NEC must move beyond reactionary responses to disasters.
‎
‎He said the Council’s work should be measured by improvements in the lives of farmers, manufacturers, vulnerable citizens, unemployed youths, and children.
