Plateau State Government has imposed a 48-hour curfew on Jos North Local Government Area, effective from 12 midnight, March 29, 2026, to April 1, 2026.
The curfew follows a tragic security incident at Gari Ya Waye community, Angwan Rukuba, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, resulting in loss of lives and several injuries.
Meanwhile, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has condemned the “barbaric and unprovoked attack” and assured that perpetrators would be apprehended and brought to justice.
He urged citizens to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information to aid investigations.
Commissioner for Information, Joyce Lohya Ramnap in a statement said the government and security agencies imposed the curfew to restore order.
