A midnight attack by bandits in Getso town, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, left one person dead and another injured.
The attackers, who struck under the cover of darkness, also rustled a large number of cattle, according to security expert Bakatsine.
This attack adds to the growing insecurity in rural communities across northern Nigeria.
Recently, bandits have attacked communities in Kano State, specifically in Rogo Local Government Area, abducting two residents. The attackers moved through Sundu and Yanoko villages, striking at night.
In another incident, bandits kidnapped 11 people and stole two cows in Unguwar Tsamiya village, Shanono LGA. These attacks have led to fears of escalating insecurity in the state, with residents fleeing their homes and abandoning farms and livestock.
The attacks highlight the ongoing security challenges in Nigeria’s northern region, where bandits and terrorists continue to target vulnerable communities.
