Police in Adamawa State, Nigeria have confirmed that suspected Boko Haram militants attacked Gare Village in Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area, abducting six members of a family.

‎Police confirmed that the unfortunate incident occurred in the early hours of the day.

‎A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje on Monday night, stated that police operatives, in collaboration with sister security agencies, had launched an intensified rescue operation.

‎The Police spokesperson, revealed that a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, troops of the 144 Battalion, and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force had been deployed to Gare Village and surrounding communities to carry out the rescue mission.

‎He also added that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris, had ordered sustained search-and-rescue efforts as part of heightened security measures across Madagali and other border communities, emphasising that the measures are aimed at ensuring the safe recovery of the abducted victims.

‎Madagali is one of the local government areas most affected by Boko Haram activities.
