A major political figure of the Ijaw ethnic group in the Niger Delta region, Asari Dokubo, has promised to work for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

‎The Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, said it is time to reciprocate the President’s past support for him.

‎Dokubo made the promise on Tuesday when the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Degema.

‎He appreciated Wike for the courtesy call, emphasising that Tinubu stood firmly by him at a critical point in his life, stating that he would now do everything within his power to ensure the President’s success.

‎Earlier during the visit, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, said the visit to the community was to appreciate the people for their support so far and to sensitise them on why they should back Tinubu for a second term in 2027.

‎According to him, the visit was also to extend new year greetings to the people and to acknowledge the hospitality he received from Dokubo.
