Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has nominated Mr. Jerry Adams, Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, KADIRS, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
The Governor announced the nomination on Tuesday, saying the decision followed wide consultations and was aimed at upholding principles of inclusion, fairness and equitable representation.
Governor Sani described Adams as an experienced public servant and tax administrator whose leadership at KADIRS since 2023 has significantly strengthened the state’s fiscal capacity and revenue generation.
“Jerry Adams brings competence, integrity and a deep understanding of governance. His appointment reflects our commitment to merit and to ensuring broader representation across Kaduna State,” the Governor stated.
Adams, who hails from Southern Kaduna, will replace the current Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, who is constitutionally ineligible to seek a third consecutive term.
Governor Sani added that the choice aligns with his administration’s focus on competence, unity and balanced development across the three senatorial zones of the state.
