President Bola Tinubu has sworn in the new Minister of Power, replacing Chief Adebayo Adelabu, at a brief ceremony at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The President also swore in a new Minister of State for Foreign Affairs during the event on Monday.
Adelabu’s exit marks the first major cabinet shake-up in Tinubu’s power sector since 2023. The new Power Minister takes charge amid Nigeria’s ongoing electricity reforms, grid collapses, and push for improved power supply nationwide.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs will support Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements as the country deepens bilateral ties across Africa and beyond.
No reason was given for Adelabu’s departure. The Presidency is expected to announce further changes to the cabinet in the coming days.
