The Nigeria Police Force on Monday announced that it will resume the enforcement of the tinted glass permit in the country, pending the final determination of the matter by the court.
‎Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who made the announcement in a statement, noted that the enforcement forms part of efforts to combat the rising wave of insecurity in the country.
‎‎He said it has been discovered that some individuals and criminal groups have been exploiting the suspension of tinted glass permit enforcement to carry out armed robbery, kidnapping, and other violent crimes.
‎According to the Force spokesperson the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit will resume on January 2, 2026.
‎The statement further revealed that the court did not at any point restrain the Nigeria Police Force from enforcing the provisions of the tinted glass permit law, maintaining that the policy had been suspended by the Force to give citizens the opportunity to comply.
‎‎It stated that enforcement must now be reinstated pending the final resolution of the court, in view of current security trends in the country.
