Dr Peter Odili, a former Governor of Rivers State, has stated that Governor Siminalayi Fubara has his support amid the political crisis the state is facing.
Speaking at an event in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Odili assured the governor that the people of the state are solidly behind him, urging him to stand strong.
Odili added that Rivers people have asked him to inform him that he remains the political leader of Rivers State.
He further stated, “Rivers people have said that wherever you go, we will go with you. Wherever you stand, we will stand with you. You are standing on firm ground. Stand there and hold on to God.”
Odili’s remarks followed the renewed face-off between Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
