Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has called on residents to embrace environmental protection as the state marks its 35th anniversary.
In a post on X on Thursday, the Governor said the anniversary was not just about remembering the past, but a call to action for the future.
He stated that the future Anambra wants demands urgent attention to the environment, adding that nations across the world are choosing green over grey.
According to him, it is time for Anambra to move from concrete jungles to a green state with trees, clean waterways, and communities protected from erosion and flooding.
Governor Soludo noted that government cannot do it alone. He said erosion and flooding that have claimed homes and farmlands will only be curbed when every citizen plays their part.
He urged residents to plant trees, stop indiscriminate dumping, protect drains, and keep surroundings clean, stressing: “Let us choose green. Let us choose the future.”
