BAUCHI – The Food Outreach Programme of the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, has been extended to Bauchi State, making it the 29th state to benefit from the intervention.
‎
‎Food items were presented to the Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, for onward distribution to persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups across the state.
‎
‎The First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of RHI, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, said the Initiative remains committed to supporting vulnerable Nigerians through sustained food interventions and other programmes.
‎
‎She was represented by the Wife of the Vice President and National Vice Chairman of RHI, Hajiya Nana Shettima.
‎
‎Senator Tinubu said the outreach has been sustained through monthly donations of two truckloads of food items by the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative, ASR Africa, and an anonymous donor. She added that the Bauchi consignment was provided by the anonymous donor.
‎
‎Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, described the outreach as an impactful initiative and a testament to the compassionate leadership of the First Lady. He was represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Mohammed Auwal Jatau.

‎The Governor said the state government would continue to provide agricultural subsidies, economic empowerment schemes and educational support to improve citizens’ livelihoods. He added that while short-term relief was necessary, the broader objective was to promote long-term economic self-reliance.
‎
‎Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, who is also the State Coordinator of RHI, announced cash assistance for beneficiaries to facilitate transportation of the food items to local communities.
