The First Lady of Abia State and wife of the Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti, says education is the cornerstone of sustainable development.

‎Mrs Otti added that providing adequate resources to fund education is a strategic move towards ensuring quality education for all.

‎She stated this during the flag off of the distribution of teaching and learning materials, including smart boards, core textbooks, school bags, sandals, pencils, and exercise books, as well as sports equipment, to Basic Education Schools in Abia State, initiated by the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB).

‎The milestone event, in partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), was held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, and marks a significant step towards shaping the future of Abia children.

‎In a post on her verified X handle, Mrs Otti emphasised that the exercise was more than a distribution of resources, adding that it is an investment in the potential of young minds.

‎According to her, it is about equipping the dedicated teachers with the necessary tools to excel.

‎She said, “I was privileged to flag off the distribution of teaching and learning materials, including smart boards, core textbooks, school bags, sandals, pencils, and exercise books, as well as sports equipment, to Basic Education Schools in Abia State, a commendable initiative by the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) in partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC). This milestone event, held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, marks a significant step towards shaping the future of our children.

‎”This exercise is more than just a distribution of resources; it’s an investment in the potential of our young minds. It’s about equipping our dedicated teachers with the necessary tools to excel. As education is the cornerstone of sustainable development, providing adequate resources is a strategic move towards ensuring quality education for all,” she concluded.
