A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene swiftly in the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.
Recall that there has been renewed hostilities between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The crisis escalated on Thursday with members of the House of Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule commencing impeachment process against the governor and his deputy.
Reacting to the latest political crisis in Rivers State, Igbokwe in a Facebook post, condemned the impeachment plot against the Governor, saying he will not in support of it for any reason.
He urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene so as to stop the distractions in the oil rich state, adding that Rivers State has been in the news for the wrong reasons.
