Gov Oborevwori Commends NDDC For Reconstruction of Failed Benin–Sapele Expressway Section

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has commended the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, for commencing the reconstruction of a 15.4-kilometre failed section of the Benin–Sapele Expressway.

‎The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, gave the commendation on Friday during the flag-off ceremony in Amukpe, Sapele.

‎Mr. Aniagwu said the intervention would ease motorists’ hardship and improve movement along the corridor.

‎He noted that the State Government has invested over ₦300 billion in federal road corridors across Delta, adding that the administration’s focus remains on projects that improve the lives of Deltans, regardless of jurisdiction.

‎The 15.4-kilometre project will be executed with rigid concrete pavement by CCECC and Ronin and Fan Limited. According to officials, two contractors will work from opposite ends of the road to accelerate completion.
