MAIDUGURI – The Federal Government and Borno State Government are working closely to secure the safe rescue of 44 schoolchildren abducted from Mussa Central Primary School in Askira/Uba Local Government Area.

‎Governor Babagana Umara Zulum disclosed this on Friday during a meeting with parents of the abducted children at the Government House, Maiduguri.
‎
‎He expressed sympathy to the families and assured them of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s personal commitment to securing the children’s release.
‎
‎Zulum said President Tinubu had directed security agencies to intensify efforts towards rescuing the children.
‎
‎He assured the parents that the Federal Government, Nigerian Armed Forces and Borno State Government would do everything possible to bring them home safely.
‎
‎The meeting was attended by Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, Acting Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Babagana Mustapha Mallumbe, and other senior government officials.
