Malam Auwal, the father of Umar Auwal, the prime suspect in the killing of a Kano mother and her six children, has urged authorities to execute him rather than keeping him in prison.

‎Malam Auwal called for his son’s swift punishment, describing him as useless to the society.

‎Recall that assailants allegedly led by Umar Auwal killed Fatima Abubakar, 35, and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi area of Kano metropolis last Saturday.

‎Newsbuka reports that the victims include: Maimuna (17), Aisha (16), Bashir (13), Abubakar (10), Faruk (7) and Abdussalam (one-and-a-half years old).

‎The unfortunate incident has attracted public outrage across the nation, with President Bola Tinubu condemning the killings and ordering the police to ensure swift justice for the slain persons.

‎Meanwhile, the Kano State Police Command has confirmed that the suspect confessed to the killings, as well as a recent attack in Tudun Yola, where two housewives were murdered and their homes set ablaze.

‎Speaking during an interview with a radio station following his son’s arrest, Malam Auwal dissociated himself from his son.

‎He further alleged that Umar had killed his younger sister and plucked out her eyes a few years ago.

‎Malam Auwal also disclosed that he had given up on Umar, stressing that neither he nor Umar’s mother would attend his trial in court.
