Ninety pioneer Regular Recruits have passed out from the Nigerian Army Recruits Training Depot in Amasiri-Edda, Ebonyi State.
Governor Francis Nwifuru, who attended the ceremony, congratulated the graduating recruits and charged them to serve Nigeria with integrity, discipline, professionalism, courage and patriotism.
He urged them to always place the nation’s interest above personal considerations.
The Governor expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for approving the establishment of the Depot, and to the Chief of Army Staff and the Nigerian Army for siting the facility in Ebonyi State.
Nwifuru said the establishment of the Depot was already strengthening the state’s security architecture, boosting economic opportunities, enhancing civil-military relations and opening a new chapter in the development of Ebonyi and the South-East.
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian Army through sustained partnership, a peaceful operating environment and provision of strategic infrastructure, including additional projects at the Depot.
The Governor also appealed to the Nigerian Army for the completion and full equipping of the Military Referral Hospital to serve Ebonyi and the entire South-East.
He further requested collaboration on the planned development of Army land in Abakaliki to support the orderly expansion of the state capital.
