Ikechukwu Apugo, popularly known as leader, has sent warmest wishes to all Christians, Nigerians, Abians and particularly the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency on the occasion of this year’s Easter Celebration.

‎In an Easter message he personally endorsed and made available to newsmen on Saturday, Apugo reminded Christian faithful of the true essence of the celebration.

‎According to him, Easter represents the resurrection of Jesus Christ, symbolising redemption and new life in Christ Jesus, adding that the period is important because it gives opportunity for spiritual renewal, forgiveness, and hope.

‎He stressed that Christians must hold tenaciously to the various lessons of Easter, emphasising that Christ who came in human form, suffered for the atonement of sin, noting that any celebration outside reflection on the ultimate prize Christ paid for mankind, is inconsequential.

‎According to the chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), this year’s Easter offers great opportunity, for Nigerians, Abians and the people of Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency to pray for new crop of leaders who will bring the needed hope that the death and resurrection of Christ offers.

‎He said, “Easter presents us with opportunity to reflect on various aspects of life in Nigeria including societal issues like unemployment, poor state of the nation, insecurity, poverty hunger among others. Especially, as we approach election year, being the Easter before the next election, it should serve as an opportunity to pray for selfless leaders to emerge in the 2027 general elections.”

‎Ikechukwu Apugo appealed to his constituents not to lose hope, saying with little endurance, the better life they clamour for will not erode them in 2027, assuring that the ADC will wipe their tears come 2027.

‎He also urged them to continue to pray for the peace and unity of the country amid threats by non-state actors.

‎”As we celebrate Easter, I extend my warmest wishes to all Christians and people of goodwill in Nigeria and around the world. May this sacred occasion bring joy, hope, and renewal to you and your loved ones. May the spirit of love, sacrifice, and redemption inspire us to strive for a more just, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria, and particularly in our great state Abia, where ‘God’s own chosen land’ is a beacon of hope. Happy Easter.”
