Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, has dismissed claims that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is dead.

‎According to him, PDP remains a strong party, prepared to shock critics ahead the 2027 general elections, assuring members that the PDP is well and alive.

‎Makinde who made the declaration on Friday at the South West PDP Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital while addressing the crowd, said the turnout of party members as well as the defectors proved those who declared the PDP a dead political party wrong.

‎The governor charged party leaders and members across the region to remain united and committed at the grassroots level, stressing the importance of strengthening the party’s structures within communities, wards, and local governments.

‎Makinde also tasked party members to be faithful and loyal, expressing optimism about the PDP’s future.

‎Welcoming Makinde and other party leaders, the leader of the PDP in Ogun State and the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu, said the PDP has proven its detractors wrong, maintaining that the PDP remains united.

‎Newsbuka reports that the South West PDP stakeholders’ meeting attracted PDP leaders and political office holders across Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti States.
