Bandits have reportedly killed Lauwali Dan Tambai, commander of the Zamfara Community Protection Guard (ZCPG) in Goran Namaye, Maradun LGA of Zamfara State.
‎
‎In a post on Monday by security expert Bakatsine via his verified X handle, Tambai was killed by the assailants while returning from his farm.
‎
‎Tambai, widely described as a brave community defender, had risked his life to protect civilians and property amid worsening insecurity.
‎
‎According to Bakatsine, his killing is another stark reminder of the deadly cost of rural violence in the Northwest region of Nigeria.
‎
‎Experts have cited porous borders, weak governance, climate pressures, and poverty as reasons for persistent bandit attacks.
