Bandits on Sunday night reportedly attacked Bargaja town in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Posting on his verified X handle, a security expert Bakatsine, said the bandits killed three residents and abducted one person.
According to him, the latest killing and abduction have further heightened tensions in the area.
In January 12, 2026, armed bandits killed two people and abducted several others in Bargaja town.
This repeated attacks, it was learnt, is part of a larger pattern of violence in the area, with many villages in Isa LGA being deserted due to repeated bandit attacks.
The attacks have been linked to notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, who has been operating in the region.
Bakatsine posted, “Last night, bandits reportedly attacked Bargaja town in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State last night, killing three residents and abducting one other person, further heightening tensions in the area.
”With the persistent insecurity in Sokoto East District, how much longer will the men loyal to Bello Turji continue to carry out such atrocities without decisive intervention?”
