Newsbuka has learnt that bandits have attacked several communities in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing and injuring residents, while others were abducted.
The report of the attack was disclosed on Tuesday by Bakatsine, a security analyst and crisis journalist, via his X handle.
He said the attack which occured last night, saw bandits storm Unguwar Alh. Barau, Gidan Dan Mai-gizo and Gidan Hazo communities in Na’alma Ward, Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State.
Bakatsine added that they killed and injured several people, just as they also abducted some residents during the attacks.
It was gathered that the latest attack has renewed concerns over the recurring collapse of peace agreements between armed bandits and community leaders in Katsina State.
Speaking on the development, residents have said it has become a repeated pattern for bandits to enter into peace talks with local leaders, only to breach the agreements, launch fresh attacks on affected communities in future.
Some residents say this has heightened fear and uncertainty, with many questioning the effectiveness of such peace deals in guaranteeing security.
Meanwhile, the affected communities have called on the Katsina State Government and security agencies to intervene decisively and implement lasting measures to restore peace and protect lives and property in the area.
