A former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to Peter Obi’s official move from the Labour Party to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Recall that Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, had announced his entry into ADC while speaking in Enugu on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025.
Recall also that he is one of the early members of the ADC coalition, which was formed to challenge President Bola Tinubu in future elections.
Welcoming Obi in a post on X, Atiku said his joining the ADC is a major step for political cooperation in the country, assuring that he is ready to work closely with Obi to build a strong and united opposition.
He described Obi’s decision as an important development in Nigeria’s politics, expressing hope that their partnership would help create an effective opposition capable of forming a government focused on peace and economic growth.
Atiku used the opportunity to call on other Nigerians who care about the country to support the ADC coalition as it continues to gain strength across different regions.
