Worried by rising terrorism in Nigeria, RCCG General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye has urged the Federal Government to give security chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to eliminate terrorists or resign.
Adeboye made the call in a video posted on his X handle on Tuesday while lamenting the country’s worsening security situation.
“Move fast. Tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days, or resign,” he said.
The cleric added that the directive should cover not only terrorists but also their sponsors “no matter how influential they may be”.
Adeboye noted that a former Nigerian president once gave security chiefs a similar three-month deadline to crush Boko Haram, but failed to enforce it after the deadline elapsed. He said the experience shaped his current recommendation.
He emphasised that while citizens can only advise the commander-in-chief and not command him, accountability must be placed on service chiefs for results.
His remarks come amid renewed concerns over terrorist attacks, banditry, and kidnappings across the country, with growing calls for stronger measures to address insecurity.
