Ndiolumbe Autonomous Community in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State was thrown into sorrow on Sunday following the alleged murder of a man, Ukaegbu Ogii, believed to be in his mid-60s.
A community source and kinsman of Ogii, who spoke to Newsbuka on condition of anonymity, alleged that Ogii was murdered by Nkume, a man who hails from Umuota same Ndiolumbe community.
According to the source, Nkume had previously confronted Ogii, accusing him of having an affair with his wife, and the situation almost turned bloodly a few weeks ago when Nkume attacked Ogii, leaving him with a forehead injury.
The source said despite community efforts to resolve the issue, Nkume allegedly harbored resentment and killed Ogii on Sunday afternoon.
Another community member confirmed Ogii’s murder, stating that Nkume used a dagger to stab Ogii’s neck.
The source added that Nkume now at large, had previously molested Ogii over the same allegation.
As at the time of filing the report, the Ndiolumbe Vigilante Watch has invited Nkume’s wife and daughter for questioning.
