KATSINA – Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has flagged off the distribution of multimillion-naira medical supplies and equipment to General Hospitals and Primary Healthcare Centres across the state.
The Governor said the intervention includes two containers of medical consumables donated by Baitulmaal, valued at about $1.5 million, and medical equipment provided through the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare’s Sector-Wide Approach, SWAP, Programme, valued at approximately $200,000.
Radda expressed appreciation to Baitulmaal for its continued partnership, noting that Dr. Ahmed Ali Khalil assured that this is only the beginning, with more consignments and development programmes expected in the state.
He also commended the Ministry of Health, the Drugs and Medical Supplies Agency and other stakeholders for making the intervention possible.
The Governor directed that the supplies and equipment must be properly utilised, maintained and protected. “This support is not for individuals; it is an investment in our public health system and in the vulnerable residents who depend on our healthcare facilities,” he said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening health institutions, expanding access to quality healthcare and building sustainable partnerships for the wellbeing of the people of Katsina State.
