Governor Alex Otti of Abia State says Aba now enjoys 24-hour electricity through Geometric Power, 20 years after efforts began to stabilize power in the commercial city.

‎He disclosed this at the opening ceremony of Invest Lagos 3.0 held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

‎Otti spoke alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima and other governors.

Posting on his verified X handle, the governor said reliable power in Aba will be extended to Umuahia and other parts of the state, noting that energy is critical for industry and investor confidence.

‎“From Aba, we will be transmitting reliable power to Umuahia and other parts of the state, because we understand that energy is the lifeblood of economic growth,” he said.

‎Otti added that Abia completed over 400 roads in three years, introduced electric buses, and ranked Nigeria’s most health-emergency prepared state in the SBM 2025 Report.

‎He said the state refurbished hundreds of health centres, recruited 800 professionals, and dedicated 15% of its budget to healthcare.

‎Otti also highlighted the proposed Abia Medical City with 200 hectares of land and access roads, and the Abia Industrial and Innovation Park in Owaza, Ukwa West LGA, as investment opportunities.

The governor stressed that Abia is not competing with Lagos but complementing it. “Nigeria’s growth requires multiple thriving cities, and Abia is ready to deliver,” he stated.
