Abia APC Chairman, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, has responded to sarcastic congratulatory remarks from Onyebuchi Ememanka, Director General of Abia State Bureau of Strategic Communication, following his assumption of office.

‎‎In a statement on Saturday by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Uche Aguoru, Chukwu appreciated the message but vowed the APC will continue to hold Governor Alex Otti’s administration accountable as an opposition party.

‎According to the statement, the party will continue to promote transparency, due process, and accountability, allegedly lacking in the current administration.

‎‎The Abia APC Chairman pointed out that the party offers Abians a credible alternative with good governance, transparency, and inclusiveness, adding that an APC-led government would guarantee freedom of speech and opposition parties’ functioning, he added.

He dismissed statement that the party should wait until 2031 to challenge the administration, saying Abians question the government’s “lies and deception”.

‎‎Chukwu cited alleged inconsistencies in government claims on projects, including smart schools, a non-existent recreation centre, procurement expenses among others.

‎He reaffirmed that Abia APC remains determined to provide a better governance alternative for Abia, expressing confidence in the people’s decision in the next electoral cycle.
