Chief Eric Opah, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, is not a stranger to building something from nothing and making it globally respected.
The same ideology he exhibited in running Fortune Global Shipping and Logistics Limited, which has made the company reputable and respected all over the globe, is the same ideology he has promised to use in running Abia State.
He has also held many positions of leadership. Currently, he is the President General of Nsulu Development Union, where his grassroots touch has been felt. He was also honoured with the Sun Newspaper Award, a testament to his sterling performance and contribution to society.
He is not perturbed about the unpopularity talk peddled in some quarters. He is well positioned and prepared to take Abia to the next level if elected in 2027.
Even those in the race with him know that his exploits as the CEO of Fortune Global Shipping and Logistics Limited gives him an edge over them. Opah is not coming to experiment as Governor of Abia State.
He is coming to run an all-inclusive administration where every Abian has a sense of belonging. That is why the talk about capacity is no longer raised. His contemporaries know he has enough capacity, contact and competence to take Abia to the next level.
It is now up to Abians to choose wisely, by making further findings about the brain behind Fortune Global Shipping and Logistics Limited.
Abia does not need trial and error in 2027. Abia needs a proven manager, a global player, and a man who has done it before.
