The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, Sir Uzoma Ihuka, has said his vision is to ensure the constituency witnesses federal presence like their counterparts in Isuikwuato/Umunneochi and Bende Federal Constituencies.
Ihuka stated this on Friday while addressing an enlarged meeting of members of the Ikeoha Movement, Ojingajieri, Ward and LG Coordinators, and other critical stakeholders in Isiala Ngwa North/South at the country home of Rt. Hon. Christopher Enweremadu .
He said the goal would be realised if the people of the constituency vote massively for him in the 2027 general election, stressing that Isiala Ngwa North/South would benefit greatly by aligning with the ruling party at the centre.
The APC candidate noted that while the duo of Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha and Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu continue to be appreciated by their constituents for attracting federal institutions, the people of Isiala Ngwa North/South would enjoy similar benefits if he emerges as their representative.
“National Assembly representation is all about dividends of democracy. You can count the number of people from Isiala Ngwa that are federal workers. No one earns salaries from federal establishments,” Ihuka said.
He cited Onyejeocha’s track record, saying that was why leaders from the area joined the APC to align with the ruling party caucus at the centre. “That is the challenge before us,” he added.
Ihuka appreciated members of Ikeoha and Ojingajieri movements, saying they were the reason he got the APC ticket. “I cannot forget you. You are my eyes. Go and convince people to vote,” he told them.
He assured that he has the capacity to attract federal projects and institutions, noting that Isiala Ngwa North and South had not had such opportunities in the past.
“We are not going to guess. I have been executing projects at the National Assembly for the past 15 years,” he said.
The candidate urged members of the movement to be wise and not to compromise, adding that his election would translate to jobs, federal employment opportunities, and development for the constituency.
Earlier, the DG of Ikeoha Movement, Kelechi Chidiadi, said Ihuka represents what the people want, and expressed confidence in his capacity to deliver and give the constituency a new course.
He charged all groups to redouble their efforts to ensure that Ihuka emerges victorious in the election.
Also speaking, the General Youth Leader of Ikeoha Movement, Peter Godwin, and Mrs. Ihuoma Enoch, said they were ready to give everything for the emergence of Chief Ihuka, stressing that they were tired of “keke and motorcycle empowerment”.
They pledged to redouble their efforts and to take the message to the hinterlands that Ihuka has the capacity to change the narrative of Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency if he emerges.
