Security expert Zagazola Makama has reported that the Federal Government deployed 50 Forest Guards to the Forward Operating Base in Gatawa, Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto State, as part of efforts to strengthen counter-terrorism operations.

‎According to Makama, the personnel reported to the FOB on June 17 and were documented before integration into ongoing security activities.
‎
‎The guards arrived with 25 AK-56 rifles, 50 magazines, 4,500 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, GPS devices, face masks, whistles and first-aid kits.
‎
‎They have undergone orientation to familiarize them with the operational environment.
‎
‎Security sources said the deployment will enhance surveillance, intelligence gathering and response in communities affected by insecurity in the Sabon Birni axis.
‎
‎Authorities expressed optimism that the integration will strengthen collaboration among security stakeholders and sustain peace in the area.
