National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, on Friday urged Nigerians to defend democracy and support President Bola Tinubu’s economic and institutional reforms.

‎In a statement released in Abuja, Yilwatda described June 12 as one of the most important dates in Nigeria’s democratic journey, representing the courage and sacrifice of patriots who stood for justice and electoral integrity.

‎“Democracy Day is not merely another public holiday; it is a solemn reminder of our collective struggle for freedom and the right of every Nigerian to determine the destiny of our nation,” he said.

‎The APC chairman noted that democracy provided Nigeria with the platform for peaceful political participation, accountability, and protection of fundamental rights.

‎He said June 12 offered citizens an opportunity to reflect on democratic progress and renew commitment to constitutional governance.

‎Yilwatda urged Nigerians to support the Tinubu administration’s reforms, noting that meaningful national transformation required difficult but necessary decisions.

‎“While reforms may demand patience and sacrifice, history has shown that courageous leadership and sound policy choices lay the foundation for lasting national progress,” he stated.
