The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has summoned all service chiefs to an emergency meeting at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja, amid rising insecurity in Nigeria.
The meeting Newsbuka learnt , is summoned to deliberate the rising level of insecurity in the country.
Military bases in Nigeria’s North-East, particularly in Borno State, have been attacked recently, resulting in the deaths of three Commanding Officers of the Nigerian Army, all holding the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
These attacks, attributed to Boko Haram and ISWAP, have also led to the deaths of several soldiers and the looting of military hardware.
Those attending the meeting include: the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass.
Also, security agencies, including the National Intelligence Agency, are also represented at the meeting.
