Abia born UK based Jerome Samson Ukaoke has expressed optimism that the long gnashing of teeth in Abia state orchestrated by failure of previous administration in the state to improve the well-being of the people is over, urging Gov. Alex Otti to hit the ground running and address salary issue and poor infrastructure in the State.
Ukaoke, who spoke from his base in UK on Tuesday while interacting with newsbuka.com on phone, said the tranquility in Abia and ceasure of the negative news Abia is known for in the past, is an indication that Abians have implicit confidence in Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s capacity to change Abia for good.
He revealed that Gov. Otti, having studied the problems inherent in Abia State before emergence, will tactfully address all the encumbrances in the State, urging Ndi Abia at home and in diaspora to always dole out support for Gov. Otti.
In his words, Ukaoke said, “I am very much optimistic that having clinched the sit with massive support, Gov. Alex Otti will tactfully address the myriad challenges facing Abia. His years of experience in the Banking sector, no doubt, is a plus as he will bring this experience to bear in the governance of the State.
“The previous administrations in the State for 24 years, siphoned the resources of the State without recourse to the yearnings of the people. Am optimistic that Dr. Alex Otti, will lift Abia and her citizenry by addressing issues of salary, infrastructural decay in Aba and Umuahia so as to bring these cities to what is tenable in other States of the Federation.”
Jerome Samson Ukaoke, expressed belief that Gov. Otti will soon hit the ground running by addressing the issue of salaries that has kept people talking on social media just as he prayed God to guide him in making right choices that will ameliorate the sufferings of Abia people.
Reacting to the compulsory retirement of all Service Chiefs in the country by President Bola Tinubu, Jerome Samson Ukaoke, said the sack was long overdue as it was expected that every public office holder that comes on board, is bound to come up with new ideas including bringing in people he trusts, had interactions with over time, maintaining that the sack should not elucidate celebrations.
“I have seen on social media the wide jubilation. For me this shouldn’t spark off wide jubilation. I even expected Tinubu to fire them last week or week before last because the situation became so bad, banditry, kidnapping, insecurity, name it”.
Ukaoke called on the new Service Chiefs to justify the confidence the President reposed in them by doing things differently aimed at winning the war on insurgency, banditry, among others.
