A stakeholder in Bende LGA of Abia State, Mr. Campbell Ala Eluigwe, has charged the newly inaugurated Abia 8th Assembly to surpass previous Assemblies in the State by churning out laws that will further enhance the well-being of Ndi Abia.
Speaking with newsmen in Umuahia on Friday, flanked by Chima Okiyi and Chituru Okereke, Ala Eluigwe, who was full of praise for members over the manner in which the speaker Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Austin Okezie Nmeregini emerged, said it was rancour free and defeated the expectations of people who had hoped it will end in chaos.
He recalled the speech of the Governor of the State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, in relation to the enormous tasks and expectations their constituents expects from them, reminding them that they must justify these expectations and assist in improving and enhancing the lives of the people of Abia.
Ala Eluigwe charged the Lawmakers to ensure that they remain closer to their constituents to know their cries, stressing that they cannot afford to be far away as this will make them not to identify and present the problems of their people on the floor of the House.
He drew their attention to the various infrastructural deficits in their respective constituencies just as he enjoined them to work assiduously towards a rancour-free Assembly, pointing out that they will achieve a lot together as a united House than a divided one.
Ala Eluigwe however, congratulated all the members for a successful inauguration, reminding them that to whom much is given, much is also expected.
