The Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, has charged members of the newly inaugurated Abia House of Assembly to join in his efforts to bring real dividends of democracy to Ndi Abia.
Gov. Otti, who was reacting, shortly after the inauguration of the 8th Abia House of Assembly on Wednesday at the Assembly Complex, revealed that Abians yearn for infrastructural development, saying this can be provided if Abians partner the Executive arm of Government in actualising this vision.
He said he made a vow not to disappoint Abians, urging The Lawmakers to assist in solving the infrastructural problems saying there should be zero excuses, but 100 percent actions.
Gov. Otti, who congratulated the lawmakers for the way they elected the Speaker and his Deputy, added that the little disagreement on the floor during the nomination of the Deputy Speaker was normal as disagreement is part of human nature, stressing that people disagree to agree.
He prayed that God directs and presides over their affairs as lawmakers just as he enjoined them to call on him if they have any challenge in the course of their legislative functions.
Recall that earlier, The Member, Aba South State Constituency, Emmanuel Emeruwa emerged The Speaker of the House while The member for Umuahia East State Constituency, Austin Okezie Nmeregini emerged his Deputy.
