It was a thing of joy as the first daughter of the immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Ohafia Local Government Area, Chief James Ndukwe, gets inducted as an optometrist.
Celebrating the milestone achievement at the Evergreen Event Centre, Umuahia, friends,family members, business associates and other well wishers, could not contain their joy as the first daughter of Chief Ndukwe, was successfully inducted into the field of optometry, having graduated from the Abia State University,Uturu.
In an interview, the mother of the celebrant, Lolo Ugo James Ndukwe, expressed gratitude to God, having spared the life of the daughter to witness such a beautiful event, appreciating her husband for working tirelessly to see to it that the daughter graduated,even with the high financial demands.
The father of the celebrant, Chief James Ndukwe, equally thanked God for providing for him all that were needed to see the daughter through school.
He, however, advised governments both at the state and federal levels to help cut down the cost of education, so that the poor could also have the opportunity of going to school.
The celebrant, Dr Grace Ndukwe, who dropped appreciation to her parents and the church that gave her scholarship from 400 level to 500 level, said the journey was not an easy one but thanked God for seeing her through.
According to her, few of her friends were not inducted and also, many dropped out on the way due to finance.
In all, she advised undergraduates to remain resolute and undeterred in their pursuit,adding that in whatever field of discipline they choose for themselves, whether medical profession or not, they should endeavor to be the best,as this is the only factor that could make them stand out.
Earlier, the Labour Party Abia North Senatorial Candidate, Chief Nnamdi Iro Orji, who graced the occasion among other dignitaries, congratulated Dr Grace Ndukwe and called on the youths to remain committed to their studies.
He said the problem of unemployment facing the nation has actually discouraged a good number of youths from going to school, since they wont get a job after schooling, thereby, resorting to illegal means of making money.
Chief Orji, while making reference to the feat achieved by Dr Grace Ndukwe, urged Nigerian youths to keep up pushing until they get to the peak of their career.
Present at the event were, the Lawmaker representing Ohafia North State Constituency, Hon Mandela Obasi, the Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Barr David Iro, the PDP chairman of Ohafia LGA, Chief Emmanuel Agwu Ukpong, Religious Leaders, among others.
