A former Chief Press Secretary to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Mr Enyinnaya Appollos, has described Saturday’s Governorship and State Assembly elections as peaceful.
Appollos said flyers from various LGAs in the State indicate that the election was generally peaceful as INEC improved on their performance during the February 25th, Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The former CPS to the Governor who dropped the hint while addressing newsmen after casting his vote at his polling unit 006, ward 3, Isikor, Obingwa LGA of Abia State, said voter apathy was not recorded in his polling unit, adding that the villagers on their own came out to vote for their preferred candidates.
Apollos lauded INEC for the smooth conduct of the election while also commending security agencies for providing security during the polls.
