(Opinion) Okey Ahiwe Detests Class -By Ikemdirim Onyeije

The political actors in our contemporary society have been accused of widening the gap between the haves and the have nots whereas other classes of individuals are exempted from this assertion.

However, in the political sphere, The Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the March 11 election, Chief Okey Ahiwe, has presented himself as a cornucopia of those who do not value or encourage the creation of class in any of gathering or society.

I make bold to say that my encounter with Chief Okey Ahiwe 10 years ago, has cleared some misconception about the political actors and class and has also taught me a lesson that there is every need to accommodate people irrespective of how haggard  they may look, their religious, ethnic and social strata.

After witnessing how the man who is carrying the flag of the ruling party in Abia State in the March 11th Governorship election, Chief Okey Ahiwe, treated the crowd that came on a courtesy visit, I paused for a minute and asked myself why can’t all our political actors behave like Okey Ahiwe?

Today, I have seen where Chief Okey Ahiwe’s humility, comportment, sincerity, compassion for others, has taken him. Of a truth and without fear of contradiction, Chief Okey Ahiwe, is a lover of the people. He does not in any way promote class in his dealings with people. In fact he detests and abhors the creation of class.

These virtues and many more are the reasons why Abians must vote a man who will accommodate all the senatorial districts in the state, and deliver his developmental agenda to all the nooks and crannies of Abia State.

While those who may want to argue this continue to counter it, truth remains that Okey Ahiwe is a lover of the people and above all, one who recommends people for enviable positions.
