The Commissioner of Police Plateau State, deployed to Abia State, B.N Onyeka, says the delay in conveying INEC materials experienced in Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections, led to murmuring and pressure from voters.
B.N Onyeka, who was posted to Abia Central which houses Afara Technical, Umuahia, noted that late deployment of vehicles, was responsible for late arrival of INEC Officials and materials for voting, noting that if the deployment was done appropriately, most people would have voted on time.
CP Onyeka, said vehicles deployed at the Ubakala Council Headquarters was not enough, adding that INEC deployed vehicles bit-by-bit which led to officials arriving late at polling units. He noted that the turnout of voters is overwhelming.
On security, he informed that the security situation is perfect, emphasizing that the men of the Nigerian Police were on ground to ensure that there is adequate security to enable voters cast their votes in an orderly manner.
