As the 2023 elections draw closer, the Young Progressives Party, YPP, candidate for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibe Michael Nwoke has called on Nigerians, particularly Abians not allow sentiments becloud their realities ad they cast their votes for candidates of their choice at the February 25th and March 11th polls.
Nwoke who stated this at a parley with newsmen at his Umuagwula residence explained that the current situation of Nigeria do not need anyone to be deceived by political parties but urged voters to be focused on individuals who have the capacity to turn their stories around as leaders.
The Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo hopeful said it has become imperative for Nigerians and Abians to take their destinies in their hands, adding that the Bimodial Voting Accreditation System, BVAS, has introduced another angle to voting in Nigeria, and noted that the era of election rigging is over while it is left in the hands of the people to decide who leads them in the days ahead.
He also decried the fuel and cash scarcity occassioned by hardship in the land and called on voters to make a bold statement through the ballots.
According to him ” I do not need to begin to remind people that the 2023 elections is no longer business as usual. I do not also need to tell them that it is time to vote out bad leaders, the situation stirs us right in the face and if we get it wrong this time, we have another 4 years of pains and anguish not just in Nigeria but Abia as well. How do you explain that people are hungry, this time not that they do not have money to buy food but cannot access their own cash that they deposited at the banks. What about our parents in the village who do not have bank accounts and only feed by the little they make of their farm produce? Who is patronizing them? With which money? I don’t even want to talk about the hike in fuel pump price which our people have to adapt to at their own expense. It is indeed a worrisome situation. We have never had it this bad”.
The former Abia ALGON boss used the forum to call on the people of Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency to vote for him at the February 25th elections and other candidates of the party adding that his constituency deserve better representation and that is what he represents.
He also called on the youths to desist from every form of electoral violence but ensure to protect their votes as he expressed confidence of emerging victorious at the polls.
